A Change Of Climate...And Of Pace

Miami Beach

I awoke this morning, went out on the balcony, and watched a 4 story high cruise ship, its white lights twinkling in the pre-dawn, silently glide into the port of Miami.

The condo faces west: Miami, Key Biscayne and Fisher Island; below my window is the intracoastal waterway. The MacArthur causeway is a couple of blocks away. So, there's lots going on in my world. Yesterday, I swam in the heated pool as the sun set. While it hasn't been cold in New York, it is still a wonderful treat to see blue sky when you do the backstroke in December.

Somehow, I'm not quite in the swing of things here, though. This was an experiment to see if I really liked staying in Miami Beach where there is so much to do. Thus far, I'm not really interested in going to the Bal Harbour shops, the Vizcaya Museum or go down to Key West. I am trying to find a little oasis of sandy beach, some stone crabs and some more sunsets. I'll keep you posted.
