Pennsylvania Morning

Philadelphia

This is one of those mornings. It's cold, really cold ( 21 degrees ) for the first time this season. The sky at dusk last night was pink-blue with puffs of charcoal clouds. And then this morning sky. For a starter there is sun before 9 am now that we have passed the annual favorite equinox of mine--when the sun starts rising earlier and the darkness lifts.

The birds are hovering over the suet and sunflower seeds then flitting back to the forest. There's frost on my bedroom window, the fire feels good in the family room.

These last two days have been a retreat of sorts. It's always good to leave the frenzy of New York and listen to the silence.
